The aim is to have the record wrapped by October 2nd; just prior to the autumn sessions for My Attorney.
Today was a marathon mixing session on My Exegesis. The outro arrangement currently runs to eight minutes, with upwards of a dozen different guitars recorded for it.
The breakthrough came when it occurred to me to mute all of the distorted layers Brian had tracked, allowing his strange and ambient tones to breathe. At once it sounded better.
Still much to do on this one; once the vocals and keys are added, the overall length of the outro can be carefully shrunk to fit.
